Before requesting a refund, make sure the entire tax return is complete. This is especially important for TurboTax users because it is impossible to know if you did or did not benefit until the return is completed. If the state taxes have not been completed and mortgage interest has not been included, determining whether or not you benefitted cannot be accurately determined.
If you
have finished your entire return, deducted the state income taxes, and other itemized deductions like mortgage interest, charitable contributions, etc., and still did not benefit, simply send us an email to support@ezperdiem.com with the subject (
Did not benefit. Requesting refund), and answer the following questions in that email:
-
Do you have itemized deductions such a home mortgage?
-
Do you have a mortgage?
-
Are you married or single?
-
Did you itemize?
-
Did you deduct union dues? (If so, how much were they?)
-
Did you deduct the business portion of your cell-phone?
-
Did you deduct other work-related expenses (i.e. shuttle driver tips, uniform expenses, etc.)?
-
Roughly, what was you salary?
-
Did you write of state income taxes (previous year) or sales tax for non-income tax states?
Once we receive this, we can process your refund. Even if you didn't benefit this year, we hope you realize that in future years you are very likely to benefit.
